About Dr. Hussain
Dr. Hussain has eighteen years of experience in academia and industry. He began his career as a Junior Scientist in 2008 after completing his MS in Systems Engineering from PIEAS. He spent fourteen years in an R&D organization, where he developed a diverse range of building energy management systems, overseeing projects from design to operations. In 2022, he joined PIEAS University as an assistant professor and was promoted to associate professor in 2025. He has completed his PhD in Computer Science in February 2019, specializing in natural language processing and information retrieval.
He has supervised over thirty students at the BS, MS, and PhD levels and published more than twenty research articles in respected international journals and conferences. He has also delivered several talks and tutorials. He believe that teaching, research, and industry collaborations are integral components of an academic career. He is passionate about fostering the intellectual development of his students and using research to address real-world challenges through industry partnerships. He thrive in team environments, where he can learn and grow more effectively.
