Research Interests
My research integrates theory and applications to advance the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Systems Engineering. Major areas of focus include:
- Artificial Intelligence & Data Mining: Application of machine learning techniques for predictive analysis and pattern recognition.
- Natural Language Processing (NLP): Specialized focus on Urdu language processing, hate speech detection, and text analysis.
- Systems Engineering & SCADA: Design and implementation of Facility Management Systems and Industrial Control Systems.
Current Projects & Grants
AI-Based Vulnerability Assessment
Project: AI-Based Vulnerability Assessment and Patching Tool for Linux (2024)
This competitive grant focuses on developing intelligent tools to automatically detect and patch
vulnerabilities in Linux-based systems, enhancing cybersecurity infrastructure.
Natural Language Processing (Urdu)
Project: Towards a Safer Online Community: Detecting Hate Speech in Urdu Social Media
(Under Review)
Project: Automated Bibliographic Information Retrieval System using Multi-lingual
Speech-to-Text Conversion (Under Review)
These projects aim to leverage NLP to solve local linguistic challenges, particularly in detecting toxic
content in Urdu and improving information retrieval systems.
Systems Engineering
My background includes extensive work as a Control Systems Engineer at PAEC (2008-2018), specifically dealing with the design, implementation, and maintenance of SCADA systems using GENESIS ICONICS and Facility Management Systems.
